First and foremost, I want to wish everyone reading this a very Merry Christmas and hope this finds you in great health and high spirits.
Please don’t send your sympathy! I’m over my break up and okay with where I am in life. I’ve got my family and close friends who I’ll see and visit during this holiday season.
Although I’m in a good spot in life, there is still some weirdness on this day. A couple of days ago, I was invited to a Christmas breakfast with my ex’s mom and her husband. They actually still like me in spite of how my relationship with her daughter ended.
Even though it’s weird, I do enjoy hanging out with them. You’re probably thinking, “they’re trying to get the two of you back together .” The truth of the matter is my ex doesn’t have that type of relationship with her mother. It’s really sad if you think about it.
I’ve always believed that things happen for a reason…AND…it’s not what happens to you but how you react to what happens to you. My mantra has always been to treat people right and people will in turn treat me right.
It may not be the same person who I treated right who would return the gesture, but it will be returned to me. Call it karma or kismet or for those raised Southern Baptist…the golden rule.
Like the lyrics in Michael Jackson’s song “Man In The Mirror “, “…if you want to make the world a better place , take a look at yourself and make that change…”
Ok I’m off my soapbox. Merry Christmas all…
